I’ve been craving this for weeeeks and I finally got some kimchi at the store over the weekend to make it. This recipe comes together in just a few minutes and the flavor is bomb.
You can get pretty creative with it and add any other sautéed veggies you’d like, you can use a different protein, or add other toppings like sesame seeds and a drizzle of sesame oil. Maybe even some fresh avocado.

Ingredients
- 1 cup protein of choice (I used @amylufoods chicken sausage)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup green onions
- 1 cup kimchi, chopped
- 2 cups day old, cooked rice
- Kimchi juice
- Soy sauce
- Garlic powder
- 1 egg, fried
- Avocado Oil
Instructions
- Sauté protein of choice in avocado oil until crispy and browned.
- Add minced garlic cloves, green onions, and chopped kimchi. Sauté a few minutes.
- Add day old, cooked rice, a splash of kimchi juice, soy sauce, and some garlic powder, and stir it all together.
- Let it cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the rice gets a little crispy and all the sauces are combined.
- Taste test to see if you want to add anything else!
- Serve and top with a jammy fried egg and whatever else you’d like. Dig in!
