Ingredients
- 15 oz can regular black beans
- 15 oz can black beans with jalapeños
- 1 tbsp olive/avocado oil
- 1/2 cup white onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Spices: cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
Instructions
- Add oil and diced onion to medium sized pot and sauté over medium heat until transparent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook into the onion stirring constantly, about 2 more minutes.
- Drain one can of beans and add to the pot. Don't drain the other and add it to the pot.
- Add 1/4 tsp each of the spices, to taste.
- Bring the beans up to a bubbling simmer, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and cook for 10 minutes.
- Final step is to blend the beans to smooth - I use a handheld immersion blender, but you can use a blender or even mash with a fork.
